AnchorBridge Environmental Inc. is a nonprofit organisation environmental advocacy, education, and justice in Barbados and the wider Caribbean. Director of Finances
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Director of Finances to oversee financial and administrative functions that ensure the organisation’s compliance and financial health. This unpaid volunteer role is vital in tracking project funding, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Oversight
Prepare and maintain quarterly financial statements.
Prepare TAMIS and CAIPO filings in Barbados.
Manage financial records using QuickBooks.
Track project funding and expenditures to ensure proper financial oversight.
Develop and maintain budgets for NGO projects and organisational operations.
Work closely with the accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Compliance & Documentation
Create compliant financial documentation as required by donors and funders.
Ensure financial transparency and adherence to relevant regulations and reporting standards.
Oversee donor compliance and reporting requirements.
Financial Reporting & Monitoring
Prepare financial reports and ensure they align with organisational and donor expectations.
Regularly monitor and assess the financial health of the organisation.
Assist in financial forecasting and long-term financial planning.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this role, applicants must:
Have proven experience in financial management, particularly within the nonprofit sector.
Be knowledgeable about managing NGO finances, including budget development and donor compliance.
Be highly detail-oriented and organised, with strong problem-solving skills.
Have experience working with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
Demonstrate a commitment to equity and non-discrimination in aspects of their work.
Have a passion for environmental justice and sustainability.
Be Based in Barbados
